School Sport

Interschool carnivals are staged in athletics, swimming and cross country are held as a feature of our sports calendar. Children receive regular lessons with a physical education teacher.

Students are also entered in the Emerald and District Primary School Sports Association trials and carnival competitions. Emerald North has an excellent record in regard to representation at District and Zone level. You should encourage your child to make the most of these opportunities whilst enrolled at Emerald North.
 

Athletics Carnival

 

Date: Friday 1 June 2018

Time: Senior Carnival (Year 3 - 6) 8:40am to 2:55pm

         Junior Carnival (Prep - Year 2) 9:00am to 11:00am

Location: Emerald North State School Oval

Requirements: Hat, water bottle, lunch and shoes. Students are encouraged to wear their house colours but due to sun safety requirements there are to be no singlets worn.

Selections: The top 3 placed athletes in each event (10 to 12 years) will be selected into the Emerald North State School Athletics Team, to compete at the Emerald District Athletics Carnival on the 14 June.

800m Race: This year the 800m race will be held on Thursday, 31 May during school time to allow for extra time on the Friday.

Programs: available on the day

Presentations: Age Champion and Runner-up for each age group will be presented on Parade 8 June.

Capricornia School Sport

​The Capricornia School Sport Board is responsible for the administration and implementation of school sport in the Central Queensland Region.  The Capricornia School Sport Region extends from Gladstone in the south, to the Callide Valley and Central Highlands in the west, to Mackay in the north and the Capricorn Coast in the east.

Our region comprises of 4 sporting districts from more than 230 primary and secondary schools.

Capricornia School Sport has a proud sporting tradition and reputation across the state.  This has been achieved through the passion, hard work and dedication of students and the invaluable contribution of staff.
